The 2016 National Series format has been changed considerably to accommodate for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics which take place in August.
However, the intensity and standard of racing will not be affected due to the condensed race format.
Nerang BMX Club, QLD, will again be host of the series opener taking place on the 1st and 2nd of January 2016. The Nerang round has become an international hallmark event which will see a multitude of international riders travel down under to race against Australia's best and take advantage of the glorious summer weather.
Rounds 3 & 4 will head far north to the Cairns BMX Club, QLD, which has seen some of the most intense races in the country. Held across 23rd and 24th of January, riders will be tested in the hot and humid conditions of Cairns and can expect fierce competition in order to come away with any UCI points.
Rounds 5 & 6 will take place at the Shepparton BMX Club,VIC, across the 6th and 7th of February. Having hosted rounds at last two National Series, Shepparton has become a cornerstone for the development of BMX in Victoria and will be on a high after hosting the 2015 Victorian State Titles.
The final round of the series will be held in early March at a brand new multi-million dollar BMX track in Bathurst, NSW. The track will feature only the second ever permanent 8 meter start hill in the country and allows riders the opportunity to be a part of the first significant event to be held at the world class venue.
Like always, all Probikx rounds will earn UCI points through their C1 classification. Riders will compete in the Champbikx Series, Challenge Series and Probikx Tour according to their age in both male and female classes. The Champbikx Series caters for 14, 15 and 16 years riders, which has traditionally been the breeding ground for some of the world’s future stars in BMX. Those aged 17-29 and 30+ Masters for Men and 17+ Women will compete in the Challenge class which continues to grow.
