Sprockets - 2009 BMX National Championship
As previously advised 2009 BMX Australia National Championships is a qualifying event for UCI BMX World Championships in
Age of Participants.
- UCI Rule book 6.1.001. A rider must be 5 years of age to compete at a UCI sanctioned event. This means real age.
- BMX Australia National Championships is a sanctioned UCI Category 4 event.
- Therefore a rider must be 5 years of age on day one of competition for 2009 National Championships being Wednesday 29th April 2009.
- A rider who turns 8 in 2009 will ride as an 8 year challenge rider.
Categories Challenge classes
Please note ; UCI rule book 6.1.004
- 5 and 6 Boys is a combined class
- 5-7 girls is a combined class
Scoring of riders 5-7 year olds
- Riders in the above 5-7 categories will be scored for World qualification purposes only at the National Championships.
No holding on start hill
Parents of riders who we call sprockets (5-7) who are entering National Championship please note that as the event is qualifying event to 2009 UCI BMX World Championships and there is no holding of riders at World Championship level by anyone . There will be no holding of riders at the 2009 National Championships.A rider will be expected to have the ability to negotiate staging, stairs/ ramps and gate.
