Frequently asked Questions Information Brief Australian riders 2009 UCI BMX World Championships June 2009 Confirmation of entries (Australian riders only) A list of riders will be on www.bmxaustralia.com.au please check carefully and advise grace.ireland@cycling.org.au of any errors on your entries. When do riders pick up number plates, Australian race jerseys and credentials.? All race credentials can be collected in the Atrium (Food) area of Adelaide Showground. Please note a UCI requirement is riders to be registered prior to practice. Challenge riders please try and be registered on Tuesday 21 July 2009. Race jerseys and rider credentials can be collected from: · 10am - 3pm Tuesday 21 July 2009 · 10am - 3pm Wednesday 22 July 2009 · 9am -11am Friday 23 July elite/junior riders only. Please note BMXA is reliant on the UCI to provide number plates and credentials on the outlined dates and times may be subject to change. Refer to this website and notices at the BMXA office within the atrium showground area. Will there be a team information meeting for Australian riders? The Team information session will be on Tuesday 21 July 6.45pm in the Atrium at the showground. Will there be spare Australian race jerseys for sale at the venue? There may be a small supply but this cannot be guaranteed. Can I have my name printed on the back of the Australian Jersey? Yes, there will be a trade stand in the auditorium area who can print names on the back of your jersey. Prices are TBA. Do I need to bring my BMXA licence or my Cycling Australia international licence(Elite/Junior riders)? Yes . All riders will be required to bring an up to date licence to rider registration. If You have entered and your licence expires prior to and during the period of the World Championships this will be advised to you at team entry and you will be required to take out an pay for up to date licence. Who are the team managers that are registering the riders? Mr. Alex Downie who has significant experience as Australian team manager will be the challenge team manager. Mr Downie will also manage Elite and Junior riders who are not part of the High Performance BMXA Team. The following information sessions have been arranged: · Tuesday 21 July 6:45 pm General information session all riders and parents. · Wednesday 22 July 6:15 pm -7pm 20 inch Challenge group 5-14 year old riders/parents · Thursday 23 July 6:15pm-7pm 20 inch Challenge riders/parents 15 years to 30 and over Masters. · Friday 24 July 6.45pm - 7pm Elite/Junior riders · Saturday 25 July 6.15pm-6.45pm All cruiser riders. All times are subject to change. When is challenge practice? BMXA has been advised by UCI that our challenge riders will have afternoon practice sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday .Times TBC as they have not been provided by UCI · Tuesday 21 July 2009. PM Time TBA · Wednesday 22 July PM Time TBA When is challenge cruiser practice? Can I ride my cruiser in challenge practice? Challenge cruisers can only practice on Tuesday and Wednesday. It will be the riders responsibility to manage this side of practice within the scheduled times. Scheduled practice times will be placed on this website in the near future. When do masters class practice? They practice with Challenge practice on Tuesday and Wednesday When do elite classes practice? · Elite and Junior women Friday 3pm to 3.55pm and Saturday 9.30-10.25 am · Junior Men Friday 4pm to 4.55pm and Saturday 10.30am to 11.25am · Elite Men Friday 5.pm to 5.55pm and Saturday 11.30am to 11.25am Note Elite riders cannot practice with Challenge riders All practice times subject to change Will friends and family be allowed in the rider warm up area and National support area? No. The riders and BMX Australia accredited staff are only allowed in the rider warm up area and Team area. . Each rider will likely have a wrist band with a serial number which will have to match their bike security to enter and exit the warm up and team support areas. As a rider will be in this area for considerable period of time it is recommended that parents /riders provide fluid and food which can be stored in the team area. Riders will have access to food atrium and parents through food atrium during the day. Do registered riders require an entry ticket? No. All registered riders for the 2009 UCI BMX World Championships will receive credentials for event entry. Please note if credentials are damaged that entry may be denied. The team managers will advise of the system when you collect registration plates and team jersey. Event Entry tickets BMXA has been advised that tickets must go on sale at the same time for Australian and International competitors. Event Merchandise There will be a large range of event merchandise available for sale from Tuesday 21 July 2009 from the merchandise shop. Parking There will be enough onsite parking for all participants and spectators. Food and drinks There will be several food canteens at the venue to serve food and drinks. No large eskies , chilli bins allowed in race arena . Smaller soft type cooler bags and back packs will be accepted. No alcohol allowed.
